"This program has given me a strong under-standing of the retailing industry, not only in the U.S., but throughout the world. The faculty is supportive and offers many opportunities to be involved in research projects. The size of our program is great because it allows you to develop strong friendships." -Rachel Mattick, RET Student

                   Master of Science

The Retailing Master's Degree program provides a research-intensive experience that prepares students for further higher education or professional positions in fields such as marketing research, global product development/sourcing, or market development.

Coursework focuses on the general theories and principles of retailing, and students work with faculty advisors to develop specialized areas of research and study such as international retailing, retail management, consumer behavior, retail strategy, human resource management,   or E-commerce. Students select one of the following major areas of specialization: consumer behavior, retail strategy, or international retailing.

Faculty aspire to bring cutting-edge research into the curriculum with their areas of expertise in retailing in rural communities; strategic planning and marketing for corporations; human resources as it relates to age, gender, family, motivation and stress in the retail environment; consumer behavior; and technology. We are also unique in offering a program focusing on retailing systems as they affect resource utilization in global marketplaces.
